29 years to close the gender paygap
29 years.
That's how long experts say it could take to close the gender pay gap in the UK.
29 years of women being paid less for the same work.
29 years of talent undervalued.
29 years of progress stalled.
The numbers don't lie:
UK average pay gap: 13.1%
Finance & insurance: 29.8% (the worst)
Health & social care: 13.9% (and getting worse)
It's 2025. Women are running businesses, raising capital, leading global teams - and yet, we're still earning less.
This isn't about ambition. Women have it.
It's not about capability. Women prove it every day.
It's about structures that reward men more - and keep women waiting.
Panels don't close the gap.
Press releases don't close the gap.
Pay equity closes the gap.
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
When companies say they're "working on it," but nothing changes, that's not progress. That's a choice.
So the real question is:
How many more years are leaders willing to defend inequality with excuses?
Because women are done waiting.
