It is staggering that any woman gets promoted.
And even more staggering that any woman rises to CEO.
This video is uncomfortable because it simply asks men the kinds of questions women leaders are still asked far too often.
Questions about appearance.
Tone.
Hormones.
Assertiveness.
Whether they are “too much” or “not enough”.
The discomfort says everything.
For many women, this is not hypothetical.
It is part of the invisible tax of leadership.
As my memoir moves through the final stages before being printed in October, I find myself reflecting again on how much of women’s leadership is not just about ambition or ability and hopefully my book provides some hope and guidance that you may find useful?
It is about navigating systems that were not always built with us in mind.
And still finding a way through.
If we observe this, we all have a responsibility to step in.
What questions have you heard women leaders asked that men rarely face?
