My bucket list…
There’s something oddly beautiful about the BBC Shipping Forecast.
It’s calm. Poetic. Nostalgic in the best kind of way—and somehow, it has the power to slow time.
As an early riser, I find the sea regions stated on the radio strangely comforting.
Unless there are gales… then it becomes massively disconcerting—especially with my deep fear of the sea.
Dogger. German Bight. Biscay.
These names opened up, then and now, a world of opportunity and quiet excitement.
I was gifted a beautiful poster of all the sea areas—and I absolutely love it.
I'd love to read it. Live. On air.
So, on my HG Bucket List, add this:
Read the Shipping Forecast. Live. In full flow.
Not for the applause.
But for the stillness.
The rhythm.
The chance to be part of something quietly iconic.
Let’s bring back wonder—in small, steady waves.
What’s the most unusual or unexpectedly meaningful thing on your bucket list?
